Squads announced for U20 and U21 World Championships

 

The Domincan Republic will have three players who helped them U20 gold in 2015

Lausanne, Switzerland, June 8, 2017 – The squads for the 16 teams that will compete at the FIVB Women’s U20 World Championship and FIVB Men’s U21 World Championship have been named.

The Women’s U20 World Championship will take place in Mexico from July 14-23, while the 16 teams that will be competing for the Men’s U21 World Championship will compete in the Czech Republic from June 23-July 2. 


The Dominican Republic will defend the title they won in Puerto Rico in 2015 and their squad contains three players who know what it takes to win gold – Vielka Michelle Peralta, Lisbeth Martinez and Yokaty Perez Flores. 

Russia have won the past two U21 World Championships and at Mexico 2015 they defeated Argentina in the final. Anton Semyshev and Aleksandr Melnikov were part of the team that triumphed and both are in the squad that will compete in the Czech Republic.
 
At the Women’s U20 World Championship there will be six teams from the CEV European Confederation, four from the NORCECA North and Central America and Caribbean Confederation, three from the CSV South American Confederation, two from the AVC Asian Confederation and one from the CAVB African Confederation. 

In the Men’s U21 World Championship there will be six teams from the CEV, three each from NORCECA and AVC, and two from CSV and CAVB.
