The Italians played smart

Ceske Budejovice, Czech Republic, July 2, 2017 – Although missing on their target to be among the best eight teams at the FIVB Volleyball Men’s U21 World Championship, Italy can be a little bit satisfied with the ninth place, which they achieved with a 3-0 win against Turkey during the last match played in Ceske Budejovice.

Michele Totire, coach of Italy: “I am happy but at the same time I’m not content because I remember the first match of the tournament. We should have played like this from the beginning. We are very pleased with the organisation of the Championship.”

Gianluca Galassi captain of Italy: “We are happy with this match. We played well and showed the other team that this is the real Italy that should’ve played from the beginning.”

Ali Kazim Hidayetoglu, coach of Turkey: “The Italians are good players, they played very smart, it is a really good team.”

Abdullah Cam, captain of Turkey: “We played ok but we lost. That’s life. Some guys might move up to the U23 tournament.”
