Italy beat USA in Pool G

 


Ceske Budejovice, Czech Republic, June 27, 2017 – The second round of the the FIVB Volleyball Men’s U21 World Championship started with USA playing against Italy in Pool G. Both teams battled through with Italy celebrating a 3-0 victory (25-23, 25-21, 25-23). 

Italy won the first set over USA by 25-23 thanks to their strong focus.

Italy started the second set with a three-point difference thanks to both their powerful attacks and blocks and ended the set with a 25-21 lead.

A six-point difference in Italy’s favor marked the start of the third set. 


With a 2-0 set difference in mind, the Americans worked harder on their receiving and blocking skills and levelled the score 22-22. However Italy made an end to the third set with a 23-25 win.

Gabriele Di Martino, middle blocker of Italy showed an excellent performance with four kill blocks and 88% attacking rate in this match.
