Iran on top of their game in Pool D

 

Ceske Budejovice, Czech Republic, June 25, 2017 – With a top two placement by both Iran and Argentina, the FIVB Volleyball Men’s U21 World Championship match between the countries promised to be a hard-fought one. In a five-set thriller, Iran overpowered Argentina in five sets.



With no pressure of moving forward in to the last eight placements, this match was just as competitive with a 25-21, 25-20, 23-25, 18-25 and 15-12 score. 

Argentina started off well however it was Iran’s solid reception and attacks that made them win their first set 25-21. 

Argentina was not able to get over the 40% attack score as they fought the battle with Iran in the second set. Iran closed it 25-20. 

Argentina only just overpowered their opponents in the third set by 23-25 with solid attacks.

The South American team progressed their game in the fourth set with a strong 18-25 result. 

The comeback by the Argentineans led to a tie-break and it was a thrilling one. With some serious break points, Iran advanced their play and stayed on top of their Pool D.
