Ceske Budejovice, Czech Republic, June 28, 2017 – After a hard-fought five set battle, Jay Hosack, coach of USA gives his team the credits for their 2-3 victory.
Jay Hosack, coach of USA: “I give a lot of credit to the Czech team and it was unfortunate that one of their outside hitters went down with an ankle roll earlier, you have to give that kid a lot of credit for still playing and fighting. I am more happy for the guys than I am for myself, we found our pace. We are facing good teams so it is not getting any easier but I am happy we won.”
Joshua Tuaninga, captain of USA: “That win was a great win for us. We found some reassurance in our play. Credit to Czech Republic, they fought. It was a great battle.”
Kristian Cervinka, captain of Czech Republic: “We played great in the first three sets but we became tired and started to lose. We made some big mistakes.”
Ivan Pelikan, coach of Czech Republic: “We can recover from this, we played good in the first three sets but it want down straight after that.”
