Six teams progress in European qualifications for Men's U21 Worlds

Lausanne, Switzerland, January 8, 2017 - Germany, Belgium, Serbia and Bulgaria finished top of their first round pools this weekend in the European qualifiers for the 2017 FIVB Men's Under 21 World Championship and together with the two best runners-up Latvia and France advance to the next round of the qualification process.



The qualifiers join Poland and the Ukraine in the next round in May, to determine the two teams that will secure tickets to the 2017 FIVB Men's Under 21 World Championship in the Czech Republic, June 23 to July 2. Europe also qualify the Czech Republic as hosts.

Round 2 pools for the European qualifiers are now as follows (to be played in May with the top team of each pool advancing to the World Championship):
- Pool E: Ukraine, Serbia, Bulgaria, France
- Pool F: Poland, Germany, Belgium, Latvia

Other teams already qualified include Egypt from Africa, Argentina from South America, China and Iran from Asia, and USA from NORCECA.
