České Budějovice, Czech Republic, June 25, 2017 – Another formidable perfomance by Brazil was put on show at the FIVB Volleyball Men’s U21 World Championship on Sunday. They won in straight sets over Japan in the Budvar Arena.
Nery Pereira Tambeiro Junior, coach of Brazil: “We tried to prepare every player for this game. The Japanese are warriors. After the first set, we knew we had to step it up. We never thought the match was going to be easy but during the match we found our strength.”
Matheus Gonçalves Silva, captain of Brazil: “ We prepare very well for every game but for this one we prepared a little more. This game is very important for us. Now we know what to do for our next match.”
Fumitoshi Tokunaga, coach of Japan: “We played very well but the last points by Brazil were so strong.
Kenta Takanashi, captain of Japan: “We did very well with our serves and receives, we were very strong but Brazil overpowered us.”
