Coach Khromenkov happy to win in straight sets

 

Russia's coach and captain in the mixed zone after the match with Turkey

Brno, Czech Republic, June 24, 2017 – Russia shut out Turkey in the last match of the day at the FIVB Volleyball Men’s U21 World Championship in Brno. Here is what the coaches and the captains of the two teams had to say after the game.

Vladimir Khromenkov, coach of Russia: “We are happy to win in straight sets. It is not easy to stay concentrated the entire day when you play the last match.”

Konstantin Abaev, captain of Russia: “We played a really good game and our serving helped us on the way to the victory. We produced fewer mistakes than yesterday.”


Ali Kazim Hidayetoglu, coach of Turkey: “Russia are a very strong team. Unfortunately, we did not control our tactical plan and that is why we lost the match.”

Abdullah Cam, captain of Turkey:  “Russia played really well and served really hard. We could not receive as well as was needed and we could not play our volleyball. Russia put a lot of pressure on us.”
