České Budějovice, Czech Republic, June 25, 2017 – Both teams did not advance to the top eight spots in FIVB Volleyball Men’s U21 World Championship. With a ninth place on their minds, Italy overpowered Ukraine by 25-22, 15-25, 23-25, 25-13, 15-8.
Still disappointed with their loss yesterday, Italy slowly warmed up in the first set and won only just with a 25-22 result.
The warm-up for Italy was not enough as Ukraine were eager to achieve good results in the second set and blazed through with a 15-25 result.
Ukraine did not stop their fast play, however Italy managed to achieve a 17-17 score with a strong pace in this set. The Italians could not stop Oleh Plotnytskyi from Ukraine who performed two rocket aces resulting in closing the set 23-25.
It was down to a deciding fifth set as Italy regrouped and improved their game and celebrated a 25-13 victory in the fourth set.
The fifth set was dominated by the Italians with one name in particular spiker Paolo Zonca as they won 15-8.
By not winning any match, Ukraine is placing last in Pool C.
