Victory dedicated to Brno fans

Cervinka speaks after Czechia's first victory

Brno, Czech Republic, June 25, 2017 – Czech Republic’s coach and captain dedicated the team’s first win at the FIVB Volleyball Men’s U21 World Championship, 3-0 against Morocco, to the home fans at Brno’s DRFG Arena.

Ivan Pelikan, coach of Czech Republic: “I am very glad to have won today because the atmosphere here, in Brno, was great. We played the match the way we wanted.”

Kristian Cervinka, captain of Czech Republic: “We won today’s first victory for our fans, not only for ourselves. I would like to thank all of them for supporting us here so much!”

Mohammed Abdellaoui Maan, coach of Morocco: “At first, I want to congratulate the Czech Republic - they played very well. We had troubles in reception - the Czech team served really well and without faults. Today it was hard to win.”

Karim Lamri, captain of Morocco: “We went down, because we lost concentration during the match. We gave the Czech Republic a lot of points by making our own simple mistakes.”
