The 2017 edition of the FIVB Volleyball Men's U21 World Championship will be held in Brno and České Budějovice, Czech Republic from June 23 to July 2, 2017. A draw was held at the New Town Hall in Brno on Wednesday, May 31 to split the 16 teams participating in the competition into four pools of four teams.

The 16 qualified countries were distributed into four pools. 

  • Organiser Czech Republic was in POOL A. Following the World Ranking published on 1st January 2017 by the FIVB, the best 7 ranked Teams qualified for the World Championship were seeded in order to have two teams per Pool. Qualified teams ranked in the first 7 positions of the FIVB World ranking were: Pool B: RUS; Pool C: ARG; Pool D: CHN; Pool D: BRA; Pool C: ITA; Pool B: TUR; Pool A: POL.
  • 8 Teams have been drawn as follows:
  1. 4 Transparent Cups with 4 Name Plates marked as follows and placed in front of the cups:

    TEAMS (x2) - Cups 1-2

    POOLS (x2) - Cups 3-4

  2. 8 Name Tags for those countries to be drawn (to be placed in the eggs or lots) marked with the country code as follows. Teams drawn were: CAN, CUB, EGY, IRI, JPN, MAR, UKR and USA
