China secures top eight spot

 

Ceske Budejovice, Czech Republic, June 25, 2017 - The last match of the day in the Budvar Arena hosted China and Egypt in Pool D. With a second place for China and a last one for Egypt, China pressured to secure their spot in the top eight with a 25-15, 22-25, 25-18 and 25-13 score.

There was little chance to score points in the first set for Egypt as China closed it 25-15.

China had a solid 76% success on attack, giving opportunities to score again and again. Egypt watched the points difference grow.

Egypt improved their level of play. China seemed surprised and lost confidence in the second set as Egypt took the result 22-25.


Third set was a flashback from the first set for Egypt as they could not find opportunities to close their points and lost this battle 25-18.  

Best player of the match was Yuantai Yu who achieved 16 points (0-15-1). Both Liying Zhou and Zixuan Tao delivered a solid performance with 15 and 13 points.

China overplayed Egypt in everything in the fourth set. They improved their blocking skills and celebrated 25-13.
