The U.S. Junior National Team won the 2016 NORCECA
Continental Championship with a 4-0 match record and a 12-1 set record. It
dropped one set to Cuba in the final. Several athletes on the roster have
played together since 2014, if not earlier. The Men’s Junior National Team has
competed at the FIVB World Championship eight times. Its best finish was fourth
in 2011 with a team that included Micah Christenson and Taylor Sander, who
would go on to win bronze medals at the 2016 Olympic Games. The U.S. has
finished 11th in the last two FIVB U21 World Championships.
