Team profile

China

China U21 Men's Team starts training in mid-May 2017, with players coming from 8 national clubs. Among the players, most of the squad crowned champion in the last year's Asian U20 Championship, also the continental qualification tournament for the 2017 FIVB U21 WCH, are in the team, together with some new players who excelled in the recent national tournament of this age category. The average year of volleyball practice is 7 years. Head coach JU Genyin has more than 30 years's coaching experience. JU led the U20 team to the top of the podium in the Asian U20 Men's Championship 2016, also the U21 team to a bronze medal in the 2015 FIVB U21 WCH in Mexico, the only medal in the team's recent 38 years' history on the world stage.

Ju Genyin

Head coach JU Genyin, former Chinese national team player, has more than 30 years' coaching experience. JU was the head coach of the Shanghai men's club team which has been crowned champion of the China national league for many seasons. JU was named four times the Best Coach of Year in China.In recent years, JU's greater success is with the junior men's teams. JU led the U20 team to the top of the podium in the Asian U20 Men's Championship 2016, reclaimed the title after 16 years. JU also led the U21 team to a bronze medal in the 2015 FIVB U21 WCH in Mexico, the only medal in the team's last 38 years.
