Team profile

Argentina

Argentina qualified for the sixth consecutive time to the Men’s U21 World Championship and did it also in Morocco 2007, India 2009, Brazil 2011, Turkey 2013 and Mexico 2015. In this category, it has two sub-championships of the World Cups since it took secondplace in 2011 and 2015, its bests results so far. In addition, at the South American level, in 2016 Argentina regained the title by becoming champion, an achievement that was not reached since 2008.

Coach

Alejandro Grossi

Alejandro Grossi

Alejandro Grossi took over as U21 coach in 2014 after serving as assistant coach to the men’s team and as coach of the U23 side. He enjoyed immediate success as the team won silver behind Brazil at the South American Championship. Grossi also coached Gigantes del Sur in the Argentine A1 League for a number of years.
Later on he went to work for UNTREF Volleyball also in the local A1 League and in the last season became champion of Liga A2 with Monteros Vóley, club with which he obtained the promotion to the maximum category. With the National Team, he was the coach of the World Sub-Champion in Mexico 2015 and winner of the South American Boy’s Youth Championship in 2016.
